Hear What the Buyers Say |

I’ve come here to look for watch straps, cases, and for new ideas, particularly new materials and movements, for our premium watch business. We supply wholesalers in the German-speaking market in Europe. I have seen interesting things here and have already set up appointments with three movement suppliers. This fair is the best fair of its kind in the world – it is well organised and it is easy to find what you need. The Frankfurt office of HKTDC has supported me in my visit here, which has been very helpful. We will definitely come back next year.
Wolfgang Amann, Managing Director, Protrade Europe GmbH, Germany
We operate a watch repair service in Canada. We started buying directly from suppliers in the Chinese mainland three years ago, so it makes good sense for us to attend this fair. I already have two orders pending and we will be following up on other contacts once I return home. I expect to do around C$300,000-500,000 of wholesale business as a result of attending the show. I’ve seen a lot of interesting products, including leather straps, batteries and movements. In fact, I can source everything I need here – I feel a bit like a kid in a candy store!

Hear What the Exhibitors Say |

Through our Sea-Gull brand we have achieved a lot of ‘firsts’ in the Chinese mainland watch market, such as the first 100% Chinese designed and built wristwatch, the first exported Chinese watch and the first Chinese chronograph, and we have been exhibiting at this fair since 1997. This is the largest watch show in the world and here we see buyers from everywhere. Not only do we look for new distributors here, but we take the opportunity to meet with our existing customers, too. Through the show website we can make appointments in advance, even with new customers, and this is a very useful resource.
Keith Choi, Sales Manager, Tsinlien Horologia Co. Ltd., Hong Kong
Last year we delivered almost two million watches, 90% of them to Europe. I would like to develop more business in markets such as Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, and I think it is easier to meet these customers here at this Hong Kong fair. But we also meet buyers from other regions of the world here – we’ve already set up appointments with distributors from Hungary, Iran and Turkey, for example. This fair is good for us and it is worth the investment to have a large booth in a prominent position; here we can particularly promote our image and our Girl Only and Hector H brands.
Philippe Berard, General Manager, SMB SAS, France
