| HEAR WHAT EXHIBITOR SAYS |
“We have had many buyers coming to our booth, including from Japan and Korea – this is the first time we have made contact with companies in these markets so this is very good for us. We are making our debut at this fair; we are a Spanish company and the economy in Europe is not good so we wanted to try to find new customers in Asia. In fact, we’ve also met with potential buyers from the US, Panama and New Zealand. On just the first day of the fair, we took a big order from a wholesaler in Korea, so we are very happy. It was definitely the right decision to come to Hong Kong!”
Diana Cardenas, International Sales, Piero Magli Watchstraps, Spain
“I have been involved in watchmaking for 25 years with a major brand but in 2009 I set up my own brand, based in Geneva. The watches are 100% Swiss made and are very high end. This is my first time to exhibit here - Hong Kong is a hub for the Asian market so it is important for me to be here. Although I am pleased to meet potential distributors here, my main goal is to raise brand awareness. I can promote my name through the international media here – for example, I have already done interviews with Chinese television and with a journalist from Singapore. I have also had discussions with possible distributors for various regions in the mainland. I’m very happy that I came to this fair and I see it as part of my long-term marketing strategy.”
Bedros Tanisman, President, Peter Tanisman SA, Switzerland

| HEAR WHAT BUYER SAYS |
“We are a distributor of watches in the Indonesian market. I’ve been visiting this fair for more than 10 years now. This is a meeting place for us to see the new models for the coming year, and to assess the latest trends in the market. Many suppliers contact us in advance of the fair to let us know that we can view their new collections here. We’ve made good contacts here over the years. We particularly focus on mid-range fashion watches and chronographs, and I’ve seen some interesting products this year. There is a trend for colour, especially red and orange.”
Sugianto, Director, PT AD Time, Indonesia
“My company imports Swiss watches into Japan. HKTDC office in Osaka provided me with a plenty of information about the show in advance. I am very impressed with the Brand Name Gallery, as the exhibitors here are the most appropriate for my line of business; I notice the stands here are well designed. I would like to see the Gallery expanded in future. The show is well organised – I have been well looked after by staff. The programme of events is good, too – the evening reception* on the first day of the fair was a great opportunity to communicate with others in the business.”
Tad Nakanishi, Executive Director, Amita Corporation, Japan
